Passing time ... With Fabric Paint!!!

Here are just a few of the items that have distracted me from bills and housework for just a little while :)

So I was invited to a friends baby shower, and had less than $20 for a gift.
I knew that she was most likely going to receive a truck load of clothes and toys for her soon to be daughter, and wanted to do something a little more personal :) ...

So I traveled to the closest Dollarama store for some inspiration ... I headed right towards their "craft" section and BOOM there it was. Blank as can be a nice oval piece of wood, so I grabbed it. As I continued down the aisle, I saw self-adhesive gemmies and those gorgeous Orange Butterflies.
Knowing I had Fabric Paint, I was inspired!  Headed to the Checkout, and $3 later (not counting paint) I had the perfect personalized Baby Shower gift!!

I had to put sports equipment too ;)

Summer was upon us, and while sitting in the backyard with my family and some Amazing friends, I realized just how plain our outdoor light cover was.
It just looked so bleh compared to the Beautiful Bright colours of the summer all around us.
So I fixed it :) ...

Glow-in-the-Dark fabric paint, a plain light cover, and a little drying time can really spruce up the whole backyard.

Having Fabric paint on hand can really help when it comes to making one-of-a-kind personalized items ...

Again, this was inspired by a trip to the local Dollar store :)
I was sitting a little boy, and wanted a nice way for his parents to catch up on the afternoons activities, feedings, meds etc.
So I ventured down to Dollarama and $4 (+taxes)later, I had the booklet and the wooden animal pieces, and the glue to create.

Most of the painting was done before gluing the animal pieces on, then I used a bit more paint to bring the design together :)

Last year there were many many days where the boys would come home from school without their lunch bags.

I had a brainstorm. If I make the bags a little more eye catching ... and plaster their names on them, they may be more likely to remember it is theirs, and to put it in their bag.
So far so good ; )

Being inspired by my Summer patio light cover, and since it was really very easy and inexpensive to do, I thought I would start to decorate it for as many "holiday" themed occasions that I can.

Here is our patio light decor for the Month of October.
I love Halloween :o0

Since there is so much Glow-in-the-Dark paint on the cover, I'm sure it would have looked just fine with a regular white Energy Saver bulb ....

... But it's for Halloween so it has to be creepier than that, so I swapped our regular bulb for a Energy Saver Black-light bulb.
oooohhh Spoooky ; )

There will be plenty more photo's to post (trust me), so add me to your Bookmarks &
keep checking back.

I just need to paint!!!

Doesn't seem to matter what else needs to be done at home.
When I want to paint .... I need to paint.
Be it my Fingernails, Furniture, Walls, Clothing, or any other item I feel could use some colour, I will paint on it! :)

I will start to tour the house, stop and stare at an item, then typically begin to chat to myself.  At which time my husband normally catches the look in my eyes, rolls his, then proceeds to ask "so what are you going to do now?"
I will stay silent, just look at him, smirk and pick up the item. I scurry off like a child with their very first candy bar :)

I wanted to post up a few of the items that have captured my time and attention, and that helped me recapture my sanity ;o)
